i would love to get the correct tank for the car but they don't make it. i am still up in the air in which way to go. like frank said, a fuel cell will close off trunk use but the 74-77 tank would not read accurately and might need mods to fit anyway. i don't know.

Jason, you are over thinking this...
'71-'75 no mods...longer mounting bolts...if the fuel guage is off it will read empty and still have 2 gals. in the tank...not a bad thing. :yup:

ok frank you convinced me. I have a tendency to over analize thing. i am going to order the tank from rock auto. Do they have the sending unit gasket and sock too?

No correct sending unit available for the 19 gallon tank....which is the NEW one.

the ...locking ring and gasket come with it...the #s for the ...vent and gromet are in the tech. section...
i adjusted my...float...(bent the float wire) to read ...empty...a little later. doing this has it stay on...full...a little longer but once comming off full,
    it is correct to empty.
with my ...digital guage...at a 10 percent reading, i have 2 gals. left.it should be 1.920 gals... but a little more is better.
to check it, at the 10 percent reading, i drained the tank...:yup:
:hmmm:...and i thought you were over thinking this...:D
