I am definately intrested in that car if you want to sell it. Man that would be perfect. It has the key in the dash correct? Does it have an engine in it?

the floor boards are awesome... vfery strong and look good as well.. i put in the felt carpet pad in my car and its glued in.. so i cant take pics of it..

but it wasnt very hard at all.. just need to make sure that you clean the metal where you are going to weld... i didnt clean it very well.. so some of my welds werent the best.. i took it to a shop in AZ and they re welded it for me.. and it looks great.

i still need to weld in the e brake pivot.. i havnt gotten to it yet.. but then again.. i dotn use the e brake... i imagine one day i might need to use it, in an emergency.. god i hope that never happens... lol

So did you have to do a lot of bending and cutting? what areas of the floor did the mustang floor panels fix?

i took a chisel and hammer and a drill and drilled through the spot welds that held each side in place next to the rocker panel area... then i cut at the bottom of the drive shaft hump all the way front to back.. one side at a time.. since these cars are unibody... if you take out th floor, the car will sag.. then you got problems

where the sub frames were, i just used a drill to drill out the spot welds and a hammer and a chisel and took them out... then i took a tape measure and measured across in the front and back of the car and got a rough size for the pan... i left it about 2-3" wide on purpose

dropped in the new pan and took a scribe and marked where i needed to trim the new floor board. i was completely surprised when the mustang floor board fit almost perfectly.

once i got a piece trimmed just right i put it in and tack welded every 6" all the way around the pan.. concentrating more on the outward sides the most. there is a "L" bend on one side of each pan, this goes under the doors on the rocker panel. i welded that as good as i could.

i had to take a hammer and pound the metal down a little so it would touch the sub frame in front on both sides.. mustang floor boards are near flat, and the maverick sub frame in front raises up towards the back of th front sub frame.. so you will need to massage the floor board a little i had to have my son stand on the metal just above the subframes in front and then push down from the roof to push the floor down. but for the most part, the floor board fit awesome

once i got one side tacked real good, i stitched it a little more. this was the first time i had welded that much and the welder i had was a little weak, but it worked. my welds werent that great, so i got it all re welded by a professional

i made sure to drill extra drain holes in the subframes, and the floor so when water comes in through the cowl, or window are where my car always leaks from, the water wont pool up.. it drains right out now. so no more rusted floor boards, i hope.

Thanks for the details, hey since you have mustang floors, basically, can you use mustang seats, rails etc? and those pieces front to back were only $69? am I remembering that right? What company did you say you got those from?

    mustangs unlimited.
i basically did a search.. found floor pans, and thn called and ordered for a 71 mustang. i figured, 71 mustang, 71 maverick.. i can always "make it fit" and it worked well

yes i am sure you could use mustang seats guides and all that.. you can weld anything to fit anything.
after all, i have a 71 maverick, with 71 mustang floor boards and a 80's thunderbird front electric seat... it all fits well. im sure i can find lighter seats for my car.. but they are comfortable. and when i welded the seats in uo front, i welded the drivers side a little too far to the left, so the arm rest on the door hits my leg.. i will need to fix that one day... but it works fine

there is also this route... but i would exercise extreme caution..

one slight problem, mustangs are wider i believe.. so you might need to trim a little off in the middle of the hump and re weld the hump together, but it wouldnt be hard on a new piece of floor board just grind the weld down and paint and you wouldnt see it

cutting th entire floor out and welding in the whole piece on a unibody car can be dangerous... the floor and roof support the entire car.. take one out, and the other one can flex and bend or crack and then nothing will line up ... but if you brace the inside before you cut out the floor, i am sure it would be ok. they do it all the time on american hotrod. you could even fab your own flat floor boards and weld them in.
