If you bolt it corner to corner ... doesn't it make it harder to tilt back and forth with the tranny mounted? I can see corner to corner working well with just an engine ...
Dan never had a problem but then again I have never installed one alone. If I was installing it by myself, I would rather have a engine tilter with the 4 chain setup.
Well my ENGINE and TRANNY are IN! Two of use did it this morning .. pulled the old ... swapped the four speed to the new ... and dropped them back in!
i get great satisfaction when i change an engine....it just makes me so happy knowing that i can do something that 80% of the world cant do
I screwed up my distributor trying to install a Hardened Gear .. So .. it will be ready to start by Sunday ... except my new distributor won't be here until Tuesday ...
While I was banging the hardened gear onto the shaft (should really be pressed on I guess) .. the collar at the top of the shaft broke in two ... To replace the collar I would need to remove the gear. I trashed the original gear to get it off. I banged for a while on the hardened gear and that sucker won't budge ... and yes the pin is out! I ordered a Pertronix Flame-Thrower Billet Distributor ... except for the polish it looks pretty much stock right down to the cap ... I called Pertronix and it comes with a hardened gear already installed compatible with the 5.0 roller cam ... So I'll be saying goodbye to points ...
That's what I figured, there has to be an easier way like freezing the distributor and heating the gear at the same time. I didn't mess with mine on my current engine just bought and MSD distributor.
