    Thanks! :) I would like to clean it up even more...there are lots of wires and hoses in there and some of 'em could be routed more neatly.


    ATOMonkey: I used an external pump mounted on the driver's side frame rail near the tank. I want to replace the gas tank with a larger one from a '76 or '77 and when I do that I intend to put in an in tank pump at that time...I agree that the external pump being exposed like it is makes it vulnerable. It was the easier choice at the time though. ;)

    It's mounted underneath the trunk. Even with rubber insulators, it's still too noisy for a street car.

    Id go EFI, in fact, I did!!!! I aint looking back! As Shadowmaster said, the Painless wiring harness is the best way to go, other than building your own harness,, which is time consuming, and can make ya wanna rip your hair out one strand at a time. The harness is about 400$,, but well worth it. Plug it in, hook up a few wires, install a high pressure pump and a return line and go,, go,,, GO!!!! I went with the older speed density setup,, which is good, but the Mass-Air is so much better,,,, On the fuel pump issue,,, I built an accumilator, fed by a 7 psi pump, and put the Stock Ford high pressure pump inside the accumilator. I can mount it anywhere, use the stock fuel line from the tank, no alterations to the stock gas tank. Just hook it up, wire it up, run a return line to the filler tube in the trunk. It holds about 2 quarts of fuel, and feeds the 40+psi pump well,,, you could go higher on the low pressure pump psi if your engine sucks the accumilator dry to keep the high psi pump fed. I built it from spare parts from the scrap parts pile I got,,, LOL! I'm now looking into a belt driven supercharger, and reprogramming the EEC to accomidate. It's truly the best of nostagia, and the latest technology has to offer. Fuel milage is grrreat,, power and torque is incredible, and I dont have to do a thing but drive it, or run it hard, The ol maverick dont care!!     Yeah, I've thought of doing the accumulator tank too, but since all my junk is already torn apart, it'd be about the same amount of effort to mount one in a new mustang tank. My current gas tank showed it's age by draining about 3 quarts of water on the trailer when I was loading it up. I'm going to get a universal install kit from www.tanksinc.com

    For only $1,091 you can get a stainless tank ready to rock from Jegs. Rick's Hot Rod Shop provides them to Jegs. hhhmmm.... A stainless tank sure would be pretty...
