Guy was "jury-rigging" a weld from the original chunk of pipe coming off the exhaust manifold. It had to be welded to a much larger chunk on a patriot side pipe he was installing. In the process, welding slag came in through the steering column "gasket" melting it away, catching the carpet, and firewall materials all on fire. Melted many of my wires, toasted my neutral safety switch, and stunk the car for years.

Forced me to do the Floor shift conversion, and live without carpet until this past month.
