What are you saying Frank ...... please explain ???

If he took the car to an auto repair shop and asked them to remove it, they would decline and tell him it is part of the emissions controls and can't be removed by law. Do you think the mechanic is wrong? Did the mechanic go off the deep end?

I'm sure most have been removed on modified cars and most are still there on granny plain stock cars.

As far as beating a dead horse, I have only been responding to other on topic posts.

Actually there is a LEGAL need for the canister. There is also the possibility of a FINANTIAL need - $20000 fine for removing safety and / or emission equipment from any car driven on the street.
The moral effects may vary but the needs are constant. It is WRONG whether you get caught or not. You may only get punished if you get caught - or if your karma catches up with you.
Yes you need the canister to be legal.
I am glad you made the decision to use it. That canister might save your life or at least let you enjoy the $20000 fine you don't have to pay.

    Acornridgeman, Good for you!

    Frank,
I don't think Georgia has been allowed to cecede from the Union yet... The law is Federal.

yea i did some research (going to keep the canister anyways but just trying to settle this) there is a federal law on emissions but each state says how many years to go back to like Georgia its 1982 and Virginia its just 25 year before the current calender year you have to be tested before they can give you a license plate or renewal i hope this settle this. depending on the state you live in you can have it or not from what some of you all have said its better to have it just because of the smell of gas and thats enough said for me to keep it hey im almost 18 and the smell of gas is the last thing i want. while im driving my old girl around. thanks you guys for your help

Asked what time it was and they told you how to build a watch, right? It happens on here from time to time.

I'm with you Sam03RC, the smell of gas in my garage had me re-install mine.
