Is anyone planning on going to the Martin museum show on Saturday 5/5?

Also I saw that they are having the cruise on Central on May 14th. This one kind of surprises me. I thought that this was done with.

I thought it might be a good time to get the car out before the weather locks me back in the house.

 

May 5th. is today "Thursday" --- maybe check the date again.

 

Oops, my bad. I fat fingered the keys. May 7th. This Saturday.

 

Car show was very good! A ton of cars there, parking lot was completely full. I saw Spenser there with his Maverick, but we were the only two. It took me a while but I finally scored a spot under an awning...then I learned that there was a pigeon nest right above my car! I will be cleaning it off for a while now. I hope that momma bird wasn't too scared by the noise.

 

Do cars still cruise Central on the weekends? Lived there in 79 and 80 while going to school at AAI.

 

Back in the early 80's I hung out with a bunch of guys from California that were here to go to AAI and UTI. We did a lot of cruising on Central, Metro Center and Main in Mesa. We would cruise on Central from the late 70's till they pretty much outlawed it with cruising ordinances in the 80's. Metro was the same way. As far as I know, kids don't have anything like that anymore around here any more. Even the cruise on Central that I posted above is just a car show at Park Central Mall. They tried to revive real cruising several years ago, but that became a fiasco when some kids hit a pedestrian.

Hi guys...seems again I do not get any email notifications when someone posts here...geez...anyway I'm just now seeing posts from back in May. @MNTony sorry I missed the deal at the Martin Museum back in May. Now as the weather is cooling down let's get another mini-meet in the works. I'm tied up the first two weekends in November so how does Saturday November 19th sound at Mixteca...same deal as in past years...4pm to whenever? Let me know...oh and this is a good time for Ryan to clean that oil spot under the Maverick...

The Martin Museum show was great! I had a really fun time and got to park under covered parking. If it weren't for the pigeon that decided my car should be a piece of art it would have been perfect! I even got free entrance to the museum.

I'm not sure if you know but Good Guys is November 18th, 19th and 20th. That may be a conflict for some folks.

Ryan still has a Maverick?!?

 

Shoot...I wasn't aware that Good Guys was that weekend...yeah that could be a problem. Let's try Saturday December 3rd then...will that work for everyone?

I'm busy this fall with family and a hunt, so I won't be able to make it down. Started the body work, so hopefully next year I've got something to show off.

 

It's official...Maverick/Comet mini-meet on Saturday, December 3rd 2022 at the Mixteca/Living Spaces cruise in starting around 4pm. We will meet in the northeast section of the parking lot by the Autozone and just south of the gas station. See you there!
