I got the maverick out of hibernation last weekend and drove it to my dads house where im staying for now. Drove it around some having fun and brakes felt smooshy. I looked in the reservoir and the small port for the rear brakes was dry. the rear drums were dry from what I can see on the outside, no drips or stains on wheels or tires. maybe it just puddled inside the drum and evaporated while sitting. Guess I finally need to pull a rear drum off and see whats in there. I havent had a rear drum off since I got the drum to drum rear end from Currie 15 years ago.
Brake fluid doesn't evaporate to my knowledge. It can absorb water (and that is why the system is sealed). If it is gone, it leaked out somewhere Ry.
I have no booster. The part for the rear wheels is in the front, so dont think it leaked out the shaft because front brakes werent dry. I dont see any signs of a leak anywhere near the rear brakes unless it all stayed inside the drum. Gene I havent even put 10k miles on this thing since it was finished, why would i need to pull off a rear drum?
Yup everyone knows that Mavericks revert back to their elements when left to sit. Currently I have a pile of ore where my car used to sit in the garage!
We really need to have a mini-meet again. Anyone up for that...maybe sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas?
Im down for a meet sometime. just cant do Fridays. Im too busy to try and figure it out this time but if somebody has an idea let us know. I guess there is always Pizza at Barros, if we want to keep it simple.
Based on Ryan's response above, let's do a Saturday or Sunday lunch. Which works better for you guys?
Saturday or Sunday works for me...just not this weekend. And if we want some of the east side folks to come should we try to move the meet farther east?
Yeah, this weekend would be too soon for me as well. And Thanksgiving along with all the fun shopping is next week. So let me figure out a date in December. Are there any keep out dates there for anyone?
