I think we should all "pass the hat" on Sat. for Dave. He's giving us a place to "hangout" so it shouldn't cost him a dime. Russ

chuck is the maverick back home yet? how's it sound?

i just did some new plugs and wires in mine, my dad came out with a screwdriver and adjusted my carb (the man can tune a carb by ear better then anyone i know, just wish he would come out to turn wrench more often) now it doesn't backfire anymore.. just about ready to go.. :bananaman

steve, the mav is still at my shop.nice mellow growl, but not loud enough for me!should be finished tomorrow.i see some flowmasters in my future, along with a bigger cam,and a pete jackson geardrive!!(winter time projects)did the plugs make a difference?i know the carb adjustment should have!when you were here a couple of months ago,i didn't notice any backfire.thats cool, she's running good.if i get time tomorrow,i'll try and give you a call.talk to you later...chuck.

ps anyone have a speedo cable they want to part with?3spd standard tranny.don't know if that makes a difference.

yeah the plugs helped, you probably didn't hear the backfireing much cause there are few hills up there lol, when i would let off the gas it would putt like crazy, i think the carb was too lean, i still think the clutch is a bit shaky, but i dunno.. call me around 9 if you can, talk to you later chuck..
