Absolutely right, Dad. I subscribe to the NADA book for classics & collectibles because I offer a brokerage if anyone desires (you guys don't need it..y'all do pretty well on your own from what I see). One example is that they put the value of a '72 Grabber, 302, in pretty much pristine shape at almost $8000! Now, how many times have you seen one actually sold for that price except to someone who hasn't a clue? I do know of a beautifully restored '72 Grabber that did sell for $10,000. If you were at Carlisle, you know which one I'm talking about. Largely, these are exceptions to the rule at this juncture of time. Who knows what will be about 5-10 years from now at the rate the collector's market is going. Bottom line, as has been said already, is that anything is worth what anyone is willing to pay for it. Our cars are not exclusive in this as I've come across many who put much more money into their cars than they will ever expect to get in return if it is ever sold, even at auction. It's all in what the vehicle is worth to you. The rest can be a crap shoot.
