I just pulled the car in the garage and found out I have some adjusting to do .. the reverse lights come on in neutral instead of reverse ..
I thought I saw one......but I can't find it now. I bought one off ebay years and years ago. The bushings are available though.
I know the shifter bushings are available ... mine seem fine. I thought there should be a bushing on the end of the rod where it connects to the lever on the tranmission but none of the Ford diagrams I have show a bushing ..
Hey Dan, what type of switch are you using for the back-up lights?.. BTW: That keychain is the exact same one that I have my Maverick keys on...
With the custom lever Ed made me I left the rod connect to the steering column. When I shift on the floor the collar on the column also moves. So the reverse lights and neutral safety all work as before. I have to adjust the linkage to the steering collar so the reverse lights come on at the correct time .. it's off by about 1/4 inch or so ..
The problem with that is you can't mount a tach on the column. That's why I disconnected all the column linkage on mine. I still need to figure out how to make my backups work...
T.L. are you saying you can't mount a tach on the column with a column shifter? I had a tach on mine with the column shift still hooked up. Unless you mean mounted with something other than the standard hose clamp?
