    Stall

Hi Scott, I love the stall on this car. It works good with the cam I had installed by my sons builder ...but I do not have the specs. here with me. It is a tall cam with a lot of duration so I needed a good stall convertor. I used Edelbrock Performer heads, roller rockers, a 4340 steel crank, fluid damper, 10 1/2 pistons, ARP studs throughout, a girdle on the mains, twin roller chain, and a lot of other goodies . I am in the process of trying to get a chrome altenator to fit (1G) and installing my Edelbrock water pump. Do you know of anybody that has gotten a chrome altenator bracket to fit a 71? I purchased one for a 65-69 302 and it does not fit. I think I will go on the forum and ask if anybody has tackeled this problem. I am trying to get this together for the Katy meet but it is getting tight. By the way it is a Wieand tunnelram with two 450 Holleys. Eddie

I got tired of my v-belts. Would toss them at 7000 rpms. So I went with a 5.0 serpentine setup, swapping in a 93 mustang one-wire alternator (1G? don't think it is 3G...). My car is a lot of fun, but with the stock stall, and my power not kicking in til around the high 2000/low 3000 rpm range, breaking the tires loose from a standstill is a bit difficult. I would like to be able to just light them up from sitting still, but without losing too much of my highway-ability.

But at the track, I am not getting 100% traction when taking off from the brake or linelock. So if I linelock it, then get the rpms up, and let off, it will spin em. But I don't want to have to go through all of that. I want to just jam the pedal and smoke em.

Your setup sounds great! Sorry I cannot give feedback on the brackets. I am sure someone on here has done it...
