I was about to order the parts and then Hawco replied I will have problem's with hood clearance. Did you have hood clearance problems? And what did you do for an air cleaner? Is yours a 200 or 250?

i think pintos and other 4cyls had 'em.

i just cut and hammered my original aircleaner underside to fit. not perfect but it works. the hood holds it in place. i have a 13'' hole in my hood under the scoop but it really doesnt provide any clearance since the hole is centered and the carb is off to the side. it should fit ok. if you want to mill the head so you dont need the adapter that would be even better for hood clearance and performance

The air breather I bought from Stovebolt, does not sit as high a stock air breather.

I'm waiting on certain guy, that's driving around in a Spyder, to bring me a head that I'm going to have reworked with bigger valves, porting, and milling of the log before I put the carb on the car. Gonna do it all at one time.

hey hawko, have you looked into the FSP aluminum head? i think you can get one ready to run for like 1200. you figure after you get all that work done to a original head you'll probably be in it for that deep anyway

My old man has a Chevy Monza Spyder he bought new in 78.
I get that car on the brain when someone mentions a Spyder with a 'y'.
