car not starting, batt issue

    Well, if you have the amp gauge instead, that's fine too. I just personally prefer the volt gauge. Take your car to the auto parts store and have them check the charging system before buying anything. They should have a machine they can bring out and hook to it. No need to waste money on parts you don't need.

    I chased a charging problem on my first Comet for a while ... replaced alt, batt, and voltage regulator, and still no cure. Turned out that it was a fractured wire between the alt and regulator. It would charge some of the time and shut off at others. Probably was expanding with underhood heat.

    I could have fixed it for the price of an electrical connector had I taken it to have the system analyzed ... rather than just slapping parts at it. Lesson learned ....

    just wanted to let everyone know my car hasnt diead out on me so i guess it was the bulb for the ALT light lol thanks everyone for the help(y)
