If the sprag had quit you would not have first but you should have all the rest.
Check fluid level, check pressure, get a real valve body, stay away from TCI products.
OK that wasn't entirely fair but I have had a flood of people asking me how to fix problems with TCI products in the last year. I am beginning to think that they are just trying to live off their name... and it is beginning to mean JUNK to me.

    You're Right.

Took -6 line off of cooler, connected 150psi gauge. No pressure. What would cause pump failure? Guess I'll never throw a rock at the sprag again.

Did you check your fluid level? It should be between the ADD and FULL marks on the dipstick with the engine idling in Park.
Pump failure is most often caused by improper installation. If you have the wrong valve body for the year of C4 it can also cause problems.

Has deep pan and is full. The TCI vb is for 78 as the donor c4 came from 78 granada. Ran fine for about 25 miles while testing brakes and steering and I was very careful about install, 3 good clunks. Made pass and was coasting in high when engine died, turned off and restarted car no gears.
And by the way thanks for the reply!!
