    Having fun now

As for a 302, yes it is. It has 289 HiPo rods, not 302 rods, due to the comp height on the pistons, the heads are not Clevelands heads due to the different water flow. But use a "Cleveland" style valve train and manifolds' ports. Actually the Cleveland came from the 429/460 R&D program and the Boss 302 was for TA racing rules. Block on a Boss is 4 bolt main and screw in core plugs. Other then that the main journals and block holes everywhere else including timing cover, oilpump mount, dist hole, bellhousing and oiling lines are the same. Oil pan and windage tray where also Boss special items. Boss cranks where forged steel with different dampers. Best technology of the day. Dual point dist with a solid cam. Rocker arms where a weak spot due to the stud slot being to short on some production arms with higher lift cams. Same rocker arms where used on Boss 351s 351CJs and 429CJ/SCJs. Another problem early Boss 302s had was pistons cracking at the pin boss. Also the Boss had a HV oilpump and a HV fuel pump with 1/2" fuel lines from tank to carb. Oil coolers and 5800 rpms rev limiters, smaller alt pulley, 4", and a hole in the rear of the intake manifold that went to a spacer under the carb to pull a vacuum on the engine along with a PCV. (Early crankcase system for reducing pressure). And the trick question is, can you put Boss 429 heads on a nonBoss 429 block? Yes you can.

I couldn't use the headers in autokrafters because I have that 86 jaguar front suspension and the headers are made for the stock stuff. The jag crossmember is pretty wide in the exhaust/frame area. If I remember right they go down and around the engine mounts, that's why I thought the super comps would work they go behind the motor mounts.

I did cut up the hooker headers and use it's parts, flange and collector. I was suprised that the 4v header flange doesn't fit the 2v port very well. What I mean was I bolted up the flange and could see past the 2v's port surface looking where the tube goes. So i had to make sure I had the tubes to the opposite side and fill in the gap. If any of this makes since. The reason I mention this is I wonder if the 4v headers would have made a good seal? In the hooker catalog they say that the 4v's will not fit the 2v's I wounder if that why.

Plus I wanted to see if I could make some crazy looking headers

That's what I am doing, 91 302 block 2v cleveland. I can give you pictures of the machine work when I take the heads back off. There also is directions for the machine work in the ford racing catalog. It mainly consist of pluging two water ports on the face of the head and drilling or machining a hole for the manifold on each head.
