Axel removal and backing plate removal

    Update: I went to the junkyard and got some 83 Bronco backing plates that use 11 X 2.25 shoes.

    Removal was easy. Finding plates that didn’t have a groove in them was not easy.

    I have used a buffing pad on them before to smooth them back out.

    I just mig weld the groves back in and finish them with a little angle grinder. Good as new and last a long time.

    Best solution when the grooves are deep AND you have a welder (y)
