just getting finnished up today, tuesday i clean the car up and friday morn i hit the road. at least thats the plan now.. worked all weekend to make the poor old 71 mav look ok, hope not to many more problems come up.. 8 hr drive from pittsburgh
Okay...got all my new seat belts in this weekend. Got my disc brake swap completed. Got my new shocks on the front. And in the middle of all of that I had to replace both belts on my mothers 97 Buick Supercharges Riviera. Would you believe that you have to remove the right side motor mount and bracket and the entire power steering pump just to replace the friggin belts!!! That was four hours I could have spent on my car...geez, remind me to NEVER own a Buick! Anyway, I feel like I got a lot acomplished anyway. Just have a few minor things left to do. See you guys Thursday at the track.
Yup, Ray,, I know all bout those belts on those buicks,, pain in the ...........butt... while I thought I was ready to go and got car and bike loaded today.. took all for a test run,, glad I did,, suburban puked antifreeze everywhere. Still thrashing here,, waterpump,, clutch fan..put in a new stat... who knows at this point. Sick of the freakin Chevy hauler and will sell it first thing when I return from Roundup. Getting down to the wire here. Too damn hot and tired to mess with it anymore tonite. Work tommorow,,, time is getting short!!!!!!!!!!! Stay tuned!!!!!!!!!!! Same ole crap... same ole channel. Dan
I don't know if I'm coming or going at this point, between the Comet and racing and trying to get the Mav ready I'm in a daze. I finally got the Mav back to my shop today, and I'll be pulling some long hours between now and Tuesday night getting it finished. I did one thing SMART last week.... I had one of my crews put central A/C in the shop ...bump that workin in 110 degree heat index
Me too! A/C in the shop would be nice. When you work inside all the time this heat is hard to take. I have a furnace and A/C setup for my garage. My buddy just hasn't found the extra time to get it installed. He owns his own heating and cooling company and says he will do it himself as a favor as I help him with the computers in his office. At this point I am ready to pay his crew to do it.
Well, it looks like I'll be driving something other than a Maverick. I had problems all weekend with the oil pressure in the newly built motor. I'm not sure what's going on at this point - but I won't have time to figure it out. I'm thinking of renting a new Mustang to drive over. It's around 8 hours from here. Either way, I'll be there!!
