"3.73 gears" Huh? That's not even a ratio ever available in an 8" gear, nor anything available in a Maverick...
yeap I said the same thing I kinda liked it myself. I guess after the Mustang II, FUBAR maybe the fine folks at Ford thought they ought not do a Grabber II
So if it was a factory 4 bbl, how come a conversion to 2 bbl is listed under the "Good" column? Still looks like a solid car, although half them pictures are worthless. Should have taken pictures of the lower sheet metal.
wow i got a car in better shape for free and it was a grabber. i really like how that engine was just refreshed 755 miles ago but yet is that dirty. and how it has a 3.73 rear end maybe he read the rear end tag wrong. it sounds to me like its just got the 2.73 gears in it. i think i would give him 50 bucks for it.
This is my ad yall are talking about. I do not know anything about fords I hate them. I posted it for my little brother and him and our dad told me it had all the stuff listed. the body is strait as a arrow so i dont how 1500 Or Best Offer is a wrong price. From MY mechanic says its not a grabber II but instead a plain V8 mave grabber with bucket seats and floor shift factory. Do I know how to check any of this? nope, but then again im a chevy guy.In my opinion its just a V8 car with some hard to find options. Any ways I have been lookin and its hard to find any maverick for the price he is asking in the condition it is. I would have taken better pix, but I dont personally own it. he has marked the price down to 1,000 cuz he wants a crotch rocket
Wow, no disrespect, but that car is gonna take a LOT of work given condition shown in the photos. Dried leaves in particular make me cringe - they usually point to far greater problems. Good luck with the sale. Chris
The Rare Maverick I have ever seen is the one with a Factory I6 250 CID with an automatic trans, bench seat no A/C White and the year 1974 with Disc breaks,, and Angelina Jolee wearing some thing from Victoria Secrets pulling up and asking if I have some time to spare,,:Handshake ( Now That Is Rare)
Versien, I don't think any one was really dogging you about your ad so much as we were questioning the validity of its content. You see a proto type Maverick Grabber II was made but not sold. To actually find one would be really cool. To have someone try and pass off a regular Grabber as the now Infamous Grabber II would be uncool. I am sure you had no intent on deception but not everyone is as truthful as you have been. Thanks for posting and letting us know the scoop on the car. Jerryfow2
this car actually gots me wanting to sell my 1981 Z/28 to buy it. only main problem I know of is the driver side floor pan needs replacing it has a peace of sheetmetal there. Also, is there a website or something that I can cross check its options and such to find out exactly what my little brother has? My mechanic is still swearin its a Grabber or Grabber II, but also says the Grabber didnt have a vinal top or bucket seats. I looked at the grabber II in the mag article that was posted in this thread and it seems the one on the left page looks a aweful lot like my brothers. I dont know and if it was my car it would be sittin at a restore shop somewhere while im having a big block built for it. Can y'all even tell me if the V8, Bucket seats, floor shift auto, and vinal top was rare on a car?
Give us the serial number, we'll tell you what it is. Grabbers could have vinyl tops and bucket seats, It's not really a rare care, just nicely optioned.
