Am I the only one who doesn't like mirrors on mav, AT ALL?

It is interesting timing that we are discussing mirrors right now. I am in the process of moving mine forward. This has been discussed here before.

When I changed to the sports mirrors, I used the forward bolt hole that existed on the car with the original chrome mirror. The was mainly due to the remote cable lining up well with the hole in the door, and installing it just required adding a new rivnut for the rear bolt. I mimicked that position when installing the passenger side.

This creates a couple issues ... when you look at the car from the side, the mirror position looks bad, like it was just slapped on there. (Not much different how Ford placed the sports mirrors, I may add). I no longer have an original to compare it to, but I get a sense that it may place the glass a couple inches further back too, and the mirror placement wasn't that hot to begin with. This would make the mirror harder to use.

Pushing them forward a bit will give a better angle to use them when looking at them from the driver seat, and it can integrate the sports mirrors better with the lines of the car. The plan is to get them to fit in better with the A pillar. I will document what I do and post a small tech article.

Ha! I just looked at the white Comet in my sig picture. It looks like no mirror.

(I flipped that picture so that it would look better in the sig banner ... ;) ... see, no passenger side mirror from the factory.)

No mirrors looks cool but it is sooooo much safer with two mirrors... I took off the regular driver mirror and added two sport mirrors... looks waaaay cooler now. The passenger mirror covers the blind spot behind the rear passenger side sail panel. Its more balanced looking too. One mirror is for a convertable sports car.
This my opinion for driving on the highways.
