Cool story, Welcome to the board, VERY NICE CAR! Numbers matching doesn't mean that much to me, a grabber, sprint, stallion some say are worth keeping original but then I look at Dennis' sprint and Dans stallion, Lonnies and Craigs grabbers and who would want one stock? These are fine examples of what these cars can be and should be if you ask me. I would go with anything that improves the drivability ie... better cooling, better braking, etc....

    Welcome

Welcome to the board. Very Nice Car!

    Some thoughts ...

10 years ago I replaced my rad and the one I got looks very much like the one that came out of it. I doubt anyone could tell the difference.

You can paint an aluminum rad black and it would be fine. While black gains heat the fastest of any color, it also sheds heat the quickest too. That is one of the reasons why OEM rads are painted black.

That burn on the vinyl roof ... that roof looks really cherry otherwise from what I can see. There are vinyl repair kits for interiors, and if you got creative with one of these, I would bet that it might make a decent repair and save you $100s on a new top.

Finally, it's your car. Build it the way you want, original or modified. The main thing is to enjoy it.

That being said, I like mine modified ... ;)

Ray, I didn't mean to forget your Grabber, just so many. But your car is definately one of those that builds inspiration in others.

My vinyl roof went bye bye long before I was blessed enough to own it.
