your going to have to have it narrowed so the offset doesnt matter. just make sure that who ever narrows it knows that you want it pinion centered.
Is that 55" to the axle flanges, or the housing width ? Make sure you specify which before the cutting starts. My housing is 51" if I'm not mistaken. The spring pads need to be 43" ctr to ctr.
that is housing width. I was gonna go to 53". My question was really about safety. How far inboard did you move the leaf springs?
Didn't move them at all. I nudged em inward as I tightened the U bolts though. Even with the 10" wheels with 5" backspace, there's still a tad (1/2" to 3/4")of room left between the 295/50's and the springs.
If you want I'll measure the housing again tomorrow just to make sure my memory is correct on the housing width. Pretty sure it was 51", could be wrong though, but I do know it was within an inch of the stock housing width.
