73 fuel tank to 70 car fuel gauge?

    i recently put a 73 fuel wire. tank in my 70 mav. how can i go about connecting my 70 single wire gauge to the 73 2 wire. i have connected it a few ways but either doesnt work or goes full.

    the single wire should go to the sender post that attaches to the resistor card. the other post installed in a 70 would need to be chassis grounded as it may not ground through the tank. try connecting a jumper wire from that post(one of them should be riveted to the sender body) to the frame of the car or negative battery post and see if it works.
