What are you going to do with the engine that you have taken out of the car? I am looking for an engine for my 72 maverick to use against all the little imports around town. I have a comet that has a 302 in it but I do not really have the time to rebuild it ground up.
yesterday i dissassembled the stearing column and modified it to accept the new universal joint, what a nightmare that was with out a break down of how it was done, but i got it back together and painted..before i reinstall it i will move the master over ..more pice to come..
How is a M2 conversion going to hold up with a BBF mounted right to the crossmember? It seems like an engine plate running over to the subframe might be stronger. My experience is that even a stock 460 can break a lot of parts quickly. Even if they are not 'souped' up, they have amazing strength (torque) to wreck stuff. Just a thought. I really don't know... Amaizingly enough the mustang II cross member is very strong it is about 3/16 thick where as the stock frame rails are about 16 gauge if there is no deteriation of the inner structure, i would think that the crossmember would take more abuse then the stock frame rails ,any way i will soon find out.......Today i removed the master and i am in the process of moving it 3 inches over so i can run a 6 inch booster as well......
Man, that is absolutely awesome!!! My '74 is going to get a MII front end when I get the frame rails straightened. Doubt it'll be a big block going in there though. Probably a Duratec V6 out of a Lincoln. 232 horse power stock, great gas mileage, and lighter then a straight 6 which means good handleing.
Removed the master pic and modified column pic...i think i am going to go with a hot rod 6 inch power booster and master set up so i will have power brakes..i also removed all the wiring from the engine bay and relocated it so as to have a nice clean bay when done...
Looks like things are going well. Great job! I used a master cylinder off a 95(?) Mustang.. Had to drill and tap to make the lines come out the fender side. Still can't use my tall Motorsport valve covers. Looks like Robert got his to work. :bananaman Cleaver
Havent worked on the mav i have been deciding which way to go with the headers and as you all probably know you cant buy pre made headers so i bought two sets and i will custom make a set i am going with 2 inch dia tubes will be tight but we will see pics on the way........
well started the headers on the pass side first let me tell you when you make headers make sure you can get them out of the engine bay ...HA HA on me, but they are comming along..Had to go with fenderwell headers as they are 2 inch primarys and they take up alot of room ..........If any one wants more pics of the headers just email me ill send them off to you...Barry scoopbj@aol.com
Looks better and better got to use my uncles truck with a 460 EFI yesterday and that thing hauls a$$ even with 900 lbs of passenger plus equiptment...didnt even put it in overdrive now you put that engine in a light weight mav
