4 lug wheels and hub caps.... let's see 'em!

The wheels that Lilfarley posted reminded me that you have to be careful with Ford 4 lug wheels ... the bolt pattern changed with the intro of the Mustang II. Be careful when shopping around ...

 

Yes... The Maverick uses the 4 X 4.5 bolt pattern. I believe Mustang II's and all fox bodys used a metric pattern.

 

I remember them being a 1/4" off in bolt pattern, so I think that makes Mustang II wheels 4x4.25, then.

I was Sales Manager at a Goodyear store in 1980. An 18 year old girl brings in her Mustang II that she just bought and wants to buy mag wheels and new tires for it. ... I didn't notice the bolt pattern difference ... drive and hour and a half round trip to get the wheels ... we mount the tires and can't bolt them on her car ... I locate the proper wheels ... drive to get them from yet another store ... mount wheels and tires on the car and charge them to mom's charge card that the girl was given ... Mom then sends "Gigantor", the girl's HUGE older brother to the store because Mom wants my ass kicked for selling the girl what she wanted ... very,very bad day ... I can laugh about it now ...

 

the Nissan/Datson pattern is the same as the Maverick/Falcon 4 lug... i think that's about the only 'newer' vehicle that has that pattern
