Might be cool but just not enough bang for the buck in my opinion.

Actually, the 300 swap is a good one if you can fab the mounts. You will have to fab the mounts or make a motor plate. As far as the 300 not wanting to rpm....that's bull. Dad built one waaaay back in 1970 to run in NHRA H/Modified Production class. He used the 300 block, 300 crank, 240 rods (they're longer), custom piston, solid lifter cam (couldn't afford a roller), ported head with Pontiac 421 intake valves and Boss 302 exhaust valves. Crane triple springs and 1.73 roller rockers, Clifford research intake with three Weber 48 IDA downdrafts and a Vertex magneto. Borg Warner Super T10 hooked into a shortened Dana 60 rear with 29x9 slicks. All of this tucked nicely into a 1965 Falcon Sprint. Buzzed that thing to 7800 rpm and held the national record for part of the 1971 season at 11.01/116 mph.

It will make power. It will rpm. You DO need a good aftermarket balancer though. The harmonics in Dad's engine were the only downfall to the whole combination. The engine would literally shake itself apart. Shortly after he retired the car there came this great new product on the market...........Fluidamper. Would have solved all his problems. I have seen these things work well. A basic combination in a Maverick with a toploader or a C4 with a decent gear should be an easy mid-12 second deal.

Wow,I figured if I could get 15s out of all the junk I've got piled up that'd be good enough:clap:quote=ShadowMaster;402087]Actually, the 300 swap is a good one if you can fab the mounts.
