    Theyre only worth more because far less were built, so theyre more rare to come by...doesnt mean the quality or appearance is better :p

    If more than 5 people on here knew how to date code a fender, I'd be amazed.
    How do seat belts affect value? You'd think door beams would add value, they would be much safer, and being an internal part like that, it wouldn't affect anything. Not all cars had smog equipment (my 73 came from California, and all it had was an EGR). Most of those things you've listed wouldn't have any affect on Maverick value.
    I have those books, going back more than 20 years, and at one time, it listed the 73 Grabbers as most valuable....

    We're talking Ford Mavericks here. A '71 can have any thing you stick on it, these aren't Boss Mustangs.

    The beams in the doors started in '73.
