i completely agree with these two statements Jim. this forum is a great place for those who love our cars and have the means to make them into a nice automobile....

on the other hand, some (including myself) was just pointing out that Frankie (1973maverick357) just doesnt have the time, means, knowledge or finances to complete any project that he starts. Im not saying this to bash him or anything, but when you jump from one car to another, try to save it then try to sell it again, then list it on ebay, they do more work on it... you just lose creditbility and people dont take you serious anymore.

will he save this car, probably not but i wish him all of the luck in the world for a guy that's just 15 yrs old

Well maybe if people didnt bash him down on every car he gets he'd have the motivation to finish one...lol

And I agree....that stallion is far out of reach for him unless he can find a car he can completely transfer over(its even out of my reach, but at least I have a donor car if I had it).

Im in no way knowledgeable enough to do what Im doing(not to mentioned Ive asked some pretty stupid questions before...lol), but thats why Im here, and thats the reason everyone is here, even the most knowledgeable has had a question at one point...but there is a limit to what one can do, and they need to know that limit, otherwise, like you said, they lose credibility.

This is his hobby that he obviously enjoys very much, otherwise I doubt he'd still be around. If he wants to buy and sell and trade around cars until he's blue in the face, that's his business and I don't see the problem.. Who really cares what anyone thinks anyway.

i can relate to this situation on a smaller scale lol...i build model cars almost complete then get another before i finish the first one...i end up never getting any of them done and now have several that sit around and never get done.

but hey if thats what you wanna do then go for it...:) i hope you fix the stallion back to original since there isn't that many true ones left. :thumbs2:

having more than one project car at a time is just not a good idea lol...:yup: (or atleast thats true for me :D)

Thanks Jim. I have a copy of Mr Boyers reply, and I will not post a statement about it. But many people seen to forget that this web was originally started for the MCCI.A CAR CLUB Or at least thats what I was told. If we, Maverick enthusiasts don't keep the younger generation excited about our cars, then who will drive them or want them in the future when we can't drive any more for what ever reason. Don't critisize, just compliment . A wise person once said" say something nice about a person or thing or don't say nothing at all" . TTFN Ron:)

I've seen a lot worse. Where would a lot of cars be if the owners hadn't spent a bunch of time and money on them. Almost anything can be restored these days. But you won't be making any more originals. Good luck with it.:)

I think it's up to the person, if they want to restore it or crush it. If you have time and the money and a shop anything is possible. Go for it. My Maverick was a mess when I found it.

Would be a nice time to tubb it,with the rear end and springs all out of the way.It would take care of any rust issues that it may have in the floors also.
