month i dont know but year is 69.5 ignition in dash horn ring black compartment. yeah i gots the works
i changed over to a 8" rear end and staggered shocks on my daughters car. did not know that about the steering wheel.will have to check that out. hood bracing is different also, but that might be a 1970 thing.
I'm planning to do the same to mine, put in the 8 inch rear and front disc brakes from my '76 parts car.
iv got a 69 1/2 mav my igintion ts on the dash it is gold with a green, black, and gold intereror. i got it from the original man who bought the car and he orderd it that way! he told me it was a 60's thing! im selling the car which is all original for $500 in north carolina! it also is verry rust free. im a comet person and it wouldent be right to violate a first year car that way by swiching parts!
if your talking about the intereor ya its verry weard! i want to sell this mav and keep it all original!
I have one 69.5 and one 69.5 clone. The second one(the "clone") we bought as a '72(VINs and titles as a '72) and didn't look real close at it, every part we have needed is from a 1970 Maverick(like brake parts...), it has drop in tank, ignition on the dash, and the side marker lights are stamped May 1969, and the interior door panels are Sept 1969. We are curious to get the dash pad off. What is the lowest VIN that anyone has on their 69.5? I have a 100009 from the St. Thomas plant. What year did the under bumper lights go from clear to amber?
Your '72 has a drop in gas tank? 100009 is damn low. I can't remember what my '69 is. Seems like it started with 109xxx. My '73 4 door is 100945. The lowest number I personally have ever seen was 100160. It was a green '71 Comet 4 door in Pull-A-Part with a 302, automatic, and A/C.
No 72 has a drop in tank. Actually no Maverick other than a 90 has a drop in tank. He said he bought one which was titled as a 72 but was actually a 70. I would doubt the originality of that interior. I've heard more than one claim of originality of stuff that never was.
Yes, that is what I was saying. When I bought it, I only was paying attention to the solid body, the low enough price, and the snappy little 351C already in it.
