I remember reading a while back when I joined the site that someone had a 250 car that they converted to a v8 car. The owner of the car I think stated that he didn't need to replace any of the mounts because he was able to use the 250 ones.

Am I remembering wrong or did this person modify those stands and mounts?

    flipped backwards [IMG]

it uses 67-79 302 ford truck mounts to do it this way

my car was setup like this when i got it, ive not had any problems with this setup in the 4,500 ive put on my car even with the turbo setup. It does seem to set the motor lower and further back then the stock mount setups but thats 2 big pluses in my book..

Well, that looks like the way to do it. That will end all of the "finding" and "paying" for the factory mounts that came in the V-8 Maverick, when doing a V-8 conversion. I never thought of doing it that way.

Whats the pn# and which crossmember did you use the 6cyl crossmember. Did you have to do anything to it because the engine set back.

    Dear All Posters,

Thank You very for all the fast replies. Just one more question, the 302 that we are using has the rear oil well. Its not a deep one, just if we put the mounting bracket on the chassis pointing to the back will everything fit just fine, or will it have to be as it in the picture to clear the steering components

    Thank You all very much
    :tiphat:
