Yep, that same trans was used in everything from 6 cylinders to big blocks.
Mine's held down with 3M double sided tape. Press it down for a minute to activate the adhesive and you're done.

Played around with the driver's side panel tonight. It fits the door recess well and it looks like all of the clip holes are in the right...
I personally wouldn't want to go any higher than that. Overdrive would get you even closer to 2000 rpm but you don't want to be running a cam...
