I paid $250 for a 5.0 long block with tin, balancer, distributor, flexplate and timing cover. It would have run but it was ready for a rebuild.

If no replacement is available, I'm thinking about a dab of non-hardening Permatex on the ball and socket. Might still be able to move it.
