they do... except when i changed to the doug thorley headers and 3" single exhaust, my 40 series became deafening at 2,400 rpms.. no other rpm...
if the paint is extremely nice, and a dark color, ex.. my black car.. then no. dont use a cover, it leaves fine scratches thats noticeable on dark...
go to lowes, go down the heating duct aisle, look for the heating duct insulation.. its reflective on one side, foam middle, and self stick...
Yup, this is what i'd do... but you might look into locking gas caps if the neighbors know you arent gonna be around for a while and decide that...

There was a dyno here in salem, va. that opened.. it lasted all of 6 months. nice little place, great looking dyno, bad rep from dumb workers there...
This is sounding more and more like a new vacation destination next year...
