I just cleaned mine with brake-clean spray, and painted them with engine enamel. Never had any problems.
OEM U-bolts are 7/16". Stock are 5-1/4" long. So for 1-inch blocks, get 6-1/4".
They are definitely terrible.

85w-140 conventional gear oil and a limited-slip additive. Without the additive, the "posi" won't work.

Pretty sure you would have to get a seat from a 2-door. Why do you want a seat that folds forward on a 4-door?
Bench seats never reclined. You can shorten the bump-stops on the 2-door seat so that it leans back further though.
What is the purpose of the spark delay valve these cars came with? I've never run one on my Maverick, but I'm curious.
Get rid of them. You don't need shorter bolts.
