You do have to remove the VB. I just looked. It is rather simple. There is a spring under the filter that needs to go back in.
The bellhousings bolt up the same but flex size will dictate the size. A 351w will probably have a 164 tooth flex which requires a different bell...
Valve body. You will see it when you drop the pan. Take the bolts out and it will drop out.
