I would keep the 6,since it can have a great advantage,but then the intake is right on top of the manifold so you would need aftermarket parts...
It goes under the oil pan,there should be one hole on each side,I installed one on my 1970 maverick 250 inline 6 from a 1973 maverick,it fit...
