super t-10 is a great tranny you can bang gears all day and never break them had one in my Buick skylark my gto never had a problem with them...
you should take that piece off if it comes off after the rebuild it will ruin your motor

Those harness kits seem like a lot of money to me what are you actually paying for cost wise a dollar an inch for wire you can buy dirt cheap...
It is very easy to make your own harness get a diagram of what you want to run (all over the internet) lights horn etc.. get the correct size wire...
