Yeah back then a 250 six had almost as much torque and horsepower as the 302 especially in the later years.
59 Ford custom or rancharo are direct bolt in ,they are about 1/2 or less wider if I recall.
And dump the slapper bars and get some Cal tracs,you will wish you did it long time ago.

I might be wrong here but the flywheel bolt holes are open on the crank shaft,they will leak also if you don't have any sealant on the threads.
Just go to any glass shop and they will cut one for you or any mustang parts place
