the brown wire should have power. i lost power to my switch recently and it wasn't a fuse i couldnt figure it out so i just ran a new wire off...

i put one on mine there isn't much of a difference but it does help to stiffen up the front end
id like to see a grabber hood with about a 3 in cowl
poke around with a magnet from under the dash. Thats where I would start
