The rubber will work well, but I, like Dave, haven't had a problem with cork. Use an inch lbs torque wrench and torque the pan bolts to spec. :yup:

I have done the same thing - with a floor jack as well as before I lowered the motor in (for the drivers side). The passenger is much easier!...
