    new motor?

Sounds pretty nasty!! Had you run it on a dyno prior to firing it? What are the particulars on your build?

Yes, I'd run it on a dyno before but am not certain that the engine was hitting on all 8 (consistently). It put 350hp (no torque reading) to the rear with a very mild cam.

This new cam and spring setup is supposed to be "the bomb" - in a good way. I've also gone to an electric water pump so that should free up a few ponies.

I'll post the results of the dyno soon after I get it dyno'd.

The build? I copied and pasted this from a document I have:

    347cid Roller
    Internally balanced
    Electronic Fuel Injected
    36# Injectors
    75mm MAF
    K&N Cold Air Filter
    4340 Forged Eagle Crank
    Eagle 4340 Forged H-Beam Rods
JE / SRP Forged Pistons (11.2 Compression)
Air Flow Research (AFR) 185 Heads
    Comp Cam
    Gross Valve Lift 1.60 Ratio: .605”/.600” Duration @ .050” 228*/ 234* 110*
    Billet Main Support Girdle
    Hooker Super Comp Headers
(1-3/4” Primary Long Tubes, 3” Collectors)
    3” DynoMax Bullet Performance Mufflers
7-qt Deep Sump Milodon Oil Pan
    Melling High Pressure Oil Pump
    DiabloSport Performance Chip
    Holley SysteMax II Intake
Custom Nitrous Kit (not connected yet)
    Aeromotive A1000 Fuel Pump
    C4 Transmission w/Transbrake
    3800 Stall Custom Convertor
    (Transgo Reverse Manual Valve Body)
    Hurst Quarter Stick Shifter
    Aluminum Drive Shaft w/ Series 1350 U-Joints
    Hurst Quarter Stick Shifter
    9” Rear w/ 4.11 Full Spool
    Cal-Trac Traction Bars
    9” X 15” Mickey Thompson Drag Rear
    4-1/2” X 15” Mickey Thompson Front Runners
    Moroso Drag Springs
Custom Built Monte Carlo and Shock Tower Braces
    Custom Built Sub-Frame Connectors
Replaced full Front Suspension with PST (Polygraphite)</C>

I'm honestly hoping for much better numbers this next time around. If not, oh well, I hope it'll be consistent!

How 'bout he makes a 12 hour trip south(ish) and you make a 17 (no wait, I've ridden with you....:burnout::drive:) a 13 hour trip in the same direction and I'll COOK!!! Come on, if y'all had left this morning you'd both be here already.....

Mr. Rick, do you ever get over toward Beaumont? I'll probably be going to school there for the next three semesters and then head to Houston for Law School. Just wondering if you ever head East? If you ever do, give me a call! Preston

Ha! So do I, but I do believe the dyno is the best way to get the correct Air/Fuel Ratio rather than puttnig in different tunes on the chip and 'hopin' I've got it right.

I promise you, I'm as anxious as can be to get back on the track - where it counts.

Preston, I drive through Beaumont on my way to visit my Mom (who lives in Jonesvill, LA) every Thanksgiving or when I visit our office in Broussard, LA. I'll remember to give you a shout the next time I'm coming through.
