Final bug in brake system, then back on the road.

Mine were also on correctly, the issue was the caliper bleeder wasn't pointing up causing air to remain in the lines.

 

what calipers would have the bleeders pointing down when installed correctly?

 

Sounds like he didn't actually take them off just tilted them up more for bleeding.. But I still couldn't tell what caliper would do that. Maybe the bracket is not clocked correctly?

 

Sounds like you need the 2# resid valve in the rear line. What's happening is the pads are retracting after brake application, causing your first "pump" to take up this slack (that shouldn't be there). The resid valve holds the pads against the rotor so there's no wasted slack to take up.

 

I will try that e-brake trick first, then order a valve if it still has the lag. I just seem to be too busy to even go into the garage for 10 minutes to mess with the brakes...

 

Internet went out, so I couldn't get my work done. Went out and did the e-brake trick, but still goes down halfway on first pump, so I will order one of those valves.

 

Finally got a chance to install that 2 psi residual pressure valve. Seems to have fixed the problem!

Now if it stops raining and the roads dry up, I will take it for a test drive...

 

now would be a good time to test it...
