I have owned this car since July 10,2009, purchasing it at the Iola Wisconsin car corral w/ 72177 miles. I decided to re-enter the car hobby after an absence of many decades. One of the main reasons I made the decision; I was going to shows/swaps/cruises anyway and getting to old to stand the many hours there. I have had/have many interest during the absence, amateur radio and RC aircraft are still things I enjoy.
Back to the car details/information!
According to Marti Report the car was built in Dearborn, 09-06-72; DSO# 5291, ship to Greenbriar_Linc-Merc Atlanta, GA. 30311.
C4, 2.79 axle ratio, 2B Bright Red Paint, AC, PS, Floor shift and Cross Country Ride Package.
The engine was recently rebuilt B4 I got it. I don't know what engine spec's are, but it works fine for my purposes. It has shift kit, someone had been inside the trans, but seal still needs to be replaced, shifts just fine, have to add little fluid occasionally. I am going to have trans gone through this spring.
Other changes it had when I bought it were mild cam, DSII Ignition, long tube headers, Granada frt. disk brakes and 600 cfm Holley.
Since I have owned the car, I have made many changes, too many to list. To name a few:
Rear end rebuild “axle to axle”, rad exchange w/elec. Fan, additional fused circuits for fan, stero amp, upgraded headlights, added horn, complete R134 AC upgrade – excluding evaporator, repair heater box & new heater core. All new steering and suspension components. DIY seat cover upgrade by covers from Fred Carillo, a forum member.
Latest modification – Borgeson steering conversion.
The car still has original paint except for the hood and driver’s door, this was due to an accident at some point and repair work leaves/left something to be desired. At some point I plan to have it repainted in original color, but, for now it’s a road car. My first priority, reliability, everything else is secondary.
I have been to 2 Roundups and 2 Gatherings, my car is the only one I recall w/ a dealer installed hood tach. I really don’t like it and may take it off at some point.
