In the short time that I've been here I've noticed that I am not the only one who has had multiple Mavericks. I'm on my forth one now and with some of you I know that's just starting but I fell in love with Mavericks at a tender age when I got my first car. You bet! It was a Maverick.

What I thought would be a fun thing to do would be to scan an old photo of me taken with my first Maverick and post it and invite all who have a scanner to find a photo and post it on this thread of you and your first Maverick. Mine was a 1970 with "3 on the tree". I wish of course that I still had it.

The photo below is me standing next to my Maverick in March 1975 at my Grandparents place in Pompano Beach Florida. I graduated High School just a few months later and drove the car to my original hometown of Crawfordsville, Indiana.

Notice the "flip" thing going on with the hair and the motorcycle boots! (yea I was big into motorcycles too).

I can't remember, I was wondering that myself. I'm not into bumper stickers anymore but it probley was a Christian bumper sticker.

My first Mav was a '72 Sprint. Still miss that car. Then I bought a '77 in California, which turned to a drag racer, then a few from then till now. I now have a '69.5, a '73 parts car, and a '71 Comet, which I am contemplating selling.

My Maverick is the first one I've ever owned & I bought it 1 1/2 years ago. My Grandmother bought a brand new 71 Maverick when I was just out of high school.
Hey Rap43, those are my hubcaps on the pic of your Maverick! lol. Are those caps original to your 70 Maverick?

Yes they were the original button hubcaps. I just took off button hubcaps on the 74 Maverick I bought and put on the full size hubcaps I bought on Ebay for $10

My first Maverick is my Sprint which I bought new and drove to high school. Today, its better than ever. I actually wanted a Comet instead but that was another $300 back then and that amounted to almost 4 payments.

My first Mav and only Mav is a 72 2 door. I bought it at the age of 12 and still have it today. I bought it from an older lady in Decab couty Georgia with 28,000 miles on it today it has 36,000. I hope to never sell my car because like many people I don't want to look back 20 years from now and say man I wish I still had that one.

    Here is a before pic

My first maverick was a 1975 4 door ... It was the infamous "Ford Green " But the interior was perfect .... The only problem with my Mav was it was hit in the rear end and the previous owner took one of the seat belts and used it to keep the trunk lid down lol .... But i remember that car to the exact detail like i still own it even though it was prolly 20 yrs ago ...

I didn't technically get my first maverick until I got married, but my wife got this car when I was 17 or 18, and now it's MINE ALL MINE! :D I don't think I have a single picture of us with the car back then, though somewhere is a picture of it all painted up at our wedding...

I got my first maverick 3 1/2 years ago. I am sure that it has changed hands many times but it has found a permanent home. This is the first car that I ever bought on my own, fixed on my own, and made the mistakes on my own. Even when I have my Land Rover Discovery and my new Porche I will still have the mav! It's kinda sad that I don't have any pictures of it while I have owned it. Well I guess it's time to take some.
