I am putting my old scoop on the new fiberglass hood. Here is a few pics of the process. I have done more since these pics and I still have atleast 1 or 2 more puttey/sand sessions to go, but for not being a body guy I think its comong along OK.
Like I said, these pics are after the first day and I have since put 2 more days worth of work on it......its looking good.
Man that looks pretty good, can I hire you to do some body work for me? Thats cool John sounds like you have a little set back before going to your uncles?
I used the method of putting 5 pds of bondo on it and sanding 4 1/2 pds off. You mean there might be another way? Lookin good
Mav5946- I love how well your fiberglass hood fits. Where did you get it? I want to order one and I know we've had alot of posts about hoods but, you have me sold on that company who ever it is. Would you post a contact number or a web site link when ever your free? Thank you!!!
Well, the hood came from Unlimited Products, I think their website is www.up22.com As for the scoop, it was on the car when I bought it. I am not sure what kind of scoop it is, I think it is a BOSS 429 scoop that has been customized. Here is a pic of mine from the side and another pic of a 429 scoop......
here is the 429, notice the angle at which the sides slope on this scoop compared to mine. All the measurements are the same, heighth, width and so on, but the only difference that I have found so far is the slope on the sides and you can tell by looking at mine that the sides have been shaved.
