    correct. most ford ignition wires for the silenoid are red/blue stripe even up until the 80's

    Frank; that was the one that was hanging on by a thread! It was red and blue stripe. Man, looks better there than I remember!

    yes, this is the one that activates the solenoid and engages the starter. it comes directly from the ignition switch from the 'start' position

    in that same wad of wires is a big ...yellow... and a green w/red stripe where does it go.(y)
    ...thanks for the help so far...
    when i get these wires run i will be ready to turn the power on and see if ...anything works...:cool:

    The Yellow has a fusible link and attaches to the battery side of the solenoid. Are you sure the other isn't a Red with a green stripe?

    It does show a black/orange that comes from the A terminal of the regulator
