im installing a D.U.I distributor. going from points to h.e.i., and the mfrg says to use a 12 gauge hot wire to the top of the coil pack. my question is, will i do any harm by useing 10 gauge over 12?

10 will be better than 12

Depending on WHERE you are geting the power from it may not matter what size wire yo uare using if it already went through 10 feet on 14 gauge wire under the dash and too and from the ignition switch. Id run a relay to power it. Run 12 gauge from battery to relay, then 12 gauge from relay to Coil. Put a 30 amp fuse at the relay. Use a 12volt source that is only on when the key is on to trigger the relay, like the OLD coil + wire would be good. this is how I powered my MSD setup.
