I haven't been on in a while, but I start school soon and need to get my Mav ready to be my daily driver. I'm at my last hurdle right now, trying to get my wipers working (kinda a biggie since I live in Florida). I just finished making my way to the motor and removing it, but when I hooked the new (donor) motor up it didn't spin. I know its probably not the switch because if I press it I can hear the washer pump go. What I need to know is is there a way to test my motor, or somewhere I can take it to get it tested so I can isolate the problem to the switch, motor, or wiring. Also, any other problems you can think of that would cause the motor not to work. Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you tride to hook the motor to a 12 volt source out of the car to see if it will work. If it is hard to spin that sounds like a problem to me. Like it might be froze up. Dean .

I would take a voltmeter and check to see if you getting power to the wiper motor. Keep in mind that just because the washer pump runs doesn't mean you have a good switch. The wiper switch is basically 2 switches in one case, one for the washers and another for the wipers.

Ok, so I tested the wiper motor and its good. Now I'm gonna try and find a voltometer around here somewhere.

Edit: Now the motors mounted and GROUNDED, and it turns out my switch has issues. I put it in and turned the switch once and they worked for about 6 passes, then I tried to switch it to fast and they stopped. Now whenever I turn the switch I can hear the motor trying to go, but it just won't work, even when I try and wiggle the switch around. I guess I'll start looking on ebay for a switch tommorrow, unless anybody knows what could be wrong with the one I've got.

I see you have electric there. Is the motor in the car when it james. Are you sure it is not binding on something in the car when installed. Or the arms hitting somewhere and causing it to jam?

Yeah, I'm gonna check the fuse box tommorrow, too dark now. Really makes me miss my garage.

If you pull your switch out you may find that the back has popped half way off like mine did, it is held on with some tabs that bend down. If it is coming off just press the back down on it and bend the tabs down more I think there are extra on there.

I know its not binding because I got it to do a good number of passes before it quit, and then again today. I'm gonna mess with my switch tommorrow. Once again, I wish I had my garage back so I could be fixing problems at night instead of thinking about problems at night.

    I've had a few
I went to Wal-Mart and bought a couple of those lights that you can clamp on to stuff. Works wonders for me, I put the head back on my engine, put the engine and transmission in my truck, and I change my oil all the time at dark in the driveway with these lights.

I think they were like 9 bucks a piece if that...
