will torino and ranchero spindles fit our mavs?

they fit 73 and earlier mustangs...so they should fit our mavs too right?

 

One of the parts cars I bought had a set of Torino disc brake spindles on it, I think they were 68 or 69 model years

 

I don't believe the spindles are the same - the track (width between center-line of the tread) is greater and so is the wheelbase of the other cars. I believe the steering control arm on the spindles is different.

 

i know 69's will because my brother has a 69 torino and got a set from a guy who had a 74 maverick with disc and he gave them to my bro,and then about 2 years later the guy gave me the rest of that smae maverick lol

Here's a little more info on that car. I have a photocopy of a classified ad from the Feb '71 edition of a Canadian Motorsport tabloid called Wheelspin News. The Colt prototype was being offered for sale with 12,000 miles at $3,995! Here's the copy:

"Colt" Maverick, blueprinted Boss 302 with Sig Erson cam, Grabber orange, tinted glass, exterior decor group, AM radio, FMX automatic transmission, Winters modified torque converter, 9" traction lok rear axle, 4.30:1 ratio, Cragar SS mags, G70-14 Polyglas tires. '69 Torino 428 front brakes, '69 Mustang GT rear brakes, orange blazer stripe interior, blacked out hood and rear deck, shaker ramair hood scoop, front and rear spoilers, carpeted interior.

The seller was John Philipps, Performance Director at Ford of Canada at that time. Wonder what became of it?

Maybe they work never tried or seen anybody else use them

 

i put granada spindles on a 70 torino with no probs so see no reason the torino ones shouldnt fit the mav

 

There is a BIG difference between "fitting" and working properly.

 

You are correct.The granada spindles worked properly on my torino.I do not see why the torino ones wouldn't work properly on a maverick since the granada ones do.

 

They are same-same from 68-71. In 69 they went to big bearings, but that is it.

The track width and other such differences in Fords are built into the front subframe, the spindles, as well as upper and lower arms are interchangeable.
