Scored an engine for the comet but just wondering if I have to cut the shock towers its a 1970 Boss 302 I know all the time every body says theve had it or done it but do you have to cut the car for it to fit? http://pictures.sprintpcs.com//mmps...t=255,255,255&ext=.jpg&iconifyVideo=true&wm=1 sorry pics from my phone but thats the head and screw in freeze plug :bananaman
Are you positive its a boss??? Block has screw in freeze plugs and canted valve heads like a cleveland???
If you are certain its a boss...Sell it...Or build it for your mav. Then when everyone sayes "NO Way!!" You can pop the hood and say "WAY" Plus it would really tick off the boss mustang crowd... Soo...could you post the numbers...
Its real but, will it fit with out cutting up the car? is the question heres a better pic of motor and cylinder head numbers http://pictures.sprintpcs.com//mmps...t=255,255,255&ext=.jpg&iconifyVideo=true&wm=1 http://pictures.sprintpcs.com//mmps...t=255,255,255&ext=.jpg&iconifyVideo=true&wm=1
If it will fit I want a shacker hood and its gotta be better then a mustang Im lighter......and I think or cars a cooler theres to many mustangs out there... Dont want to cut the car up though.
Hmm as far as I know, the only problem my inexperienced mind could come up with is that the valve covers would hit the shock tower braces, but those could be notched... I might be wrong though. On second thought though.. There was a gentleman a few years back at the Fabulous Fords Forever show at Knott's Berry Farm that had a Mav with a Boss in it... I'd look for that dude and ask him.
Yup they fit but...You have to talk to ratio411 about how its done.He has put clevelands in a mavs...boss install is like a cleveland install.I dont know if the 351 C swap headers will work though.Deck height is still different between thew boss 302 and 351 cleveland.Great score man!!! Hope you get in your mav.
